Year 8 parents relished the opportunity to see a History lesson in action on Tuesday evening. They joined their sons in deciding whether Henry VIII should be celebrated as a national icon, or whether his actions were selfish and better forgotten. Using a variety of examples of Henry’s actions, boys and parents assessed Henry’s motives and impact. The lesson concluded with an interactive quiz using iPads, with congratulations going to the Reyner family who triumphed in both the pupil and parent rounds!
Thank you to all parents who showed considerable courage in coming back into the classroom to support their sons and for putting their knowledge of history to the test. The History Department looks forward to continuing this initiative with Year 5 and their parents after half-term.
