The whole school was treated to a musical feast when our talented team of professional music staff gave a concert demonstrating the various instruments they teach. Just about every style of music was demonstrated from Bach to different rock and jazz genres. The boys and staff were, as always, given a real musical treat, the school is incredibly lucky to have such a talented team of instrumental staff.
Playing a musical instrument is something we wish to encourage every single student to do, in particular the orchestral instruments where the boys can get more involved socially, which is an important part of their development. I cannot emphasise enough the short and long term benefits of learning a musical instrument. A great number of boys already learn a musical instrument which is fantastic but some are still to find something that might suit them really well.
A letter containing all the information you need to start music instrument will be sent to all parents very soon and I advise you to discuss this event with your son and return the form as soon as possible as instruments are allocated on a first come first served basis. Please make sure you fill in a second choice on the form too as some instruments are so heavily oversubscribed they cannot be guaranteed.
