Success in the pool continues 28th June 2016 Sport Swimming

Always noisy, always close, always fun: the annual, end of season gala between brothers’ and sisters’ schools lived up to all expectations.

The Year 6 girls gave a master class in sleek, no-splash swimming – raw power, on this occasion boys, was not going to be the antidote!

Both Year 5 teams swam extremely competitively with High March taking a narrow lead after the individual events only for Davenies to come back strongly in the relays.

Davenies’ Year 4 swimmers had their race faces on from the start, all determined not to let up on their dominant performances across five Division 10 League galas this year.

Congratulations to Alex Moore on his new school record in the Year 4 Freestyle. His no nonsense, sub 13s time of 12.98s was very impressive.

The Year 3s, who are a very promising, fledgling group, with several others waiting in the wings, had a great gala winning five from eight races in emphatic style.

Across the senior age groups, we will be in need of one or two more fly swimmers next year, so if that might be you, there is holiday work to be done!

Well done to all swimmers who have competed for Davenies this year. I have been delighted with all your enthusiasm and efforts.

Final Result: Davenies 189, High March 164
