Go west young men 30th January 2016 Sport Football

A group of 14 players from Year 7 & 8, and 12 from Year 6, departed for the West of England last Friday afternoon for a hugely enjoyable mini football tour.

The two squads played 5 matches across the two days against Wycliffe Prep and Sidcot School, winning 3 matches and drawing 2. The boys from all the schools provided plenty of entertainment, sharing 34 goals! Thank you to Wycliffe and Sidcot for hosting us and their wonderful hospitality.

Davenies boys also enjoyed a meal at Pizza Express on Friday evening and finished the tour off watching Bristol City v Birmingham City at the impressive, redeveloped Ashton Gate. The tour party returned to Davenies on Saturday night after stopping for a well-deserved Burger King on the way home!

This was a very successful weekend away, which we hope to repeat in future years. Credit must go to the boys for representing the school with distinction, and behaving impeccably throughout. They were a pleasure to spend time with.

Thank you to Messrs Small, Tennant, Locke-Hart and Burrell for accompanying the boys and for giving of their time so generously.
