Each boy at Davenies is allocated to a House: Cook, Drake, Scott and Shackleton.

Brothers are always allocated to the same House. In the Pre-Prep House allegiance is signified by a coloured trim on the collar of the boys’ polo shirts, whereas in the Prep School, a House Tie is worn.

The House system incorporates various competitions throughout the year. In the Pre-Prep, Houses compete against each other at Sports Day in the Summer Term. Captains and Vice-Captains are chosen from Year 2 each term.

In the Prep School Inter-House Rugby, Cross-Country, Football, Biathlon, Swimming and the Quiz take place during the Autumn and Lent Terms, but for all boys at Davenies there are the annual Sports Days in the Summer Term. In addition to this there is a termly competition for House Points where a Cup is presented to the winners at the End-of-Term Prize-Giving. At the end of the school year, a House Cup is awarded after taking into consideration all House competitions.
